So they didn't need the great Rivera on Wednesday afternoon the way they will most likely need him at Fenway this weekend, and across the summer and into the fall.

Hand picked groups of 28 voters have kept Mo's name as scarce as possible on Cy Young ballots ever since. If you've seen ballots from some of these years, AL and NL, who did and didn't get votes, you would ask questions. But that information isn't readily available to the general public. If the process were defensible, it would not be secret.
