The second game of the doubleheader was played in the evening and featured Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto. During the radio broadcast of the night game, John Sterling spoke of the 'rainout' called on Tuesday night's game. He said, "I regret to say, there wasn't a single drop of rain all night." Some in the "traveling party" felt the 'rainout' was called to give Mr. Cueto an extra day to recover from nagging neck pain. Mr. Cueto did fine on Wednesday night and the Reds won the nightcap of the doubleheader.
